My Honest Review of Thavorn Beach Village Resort & SPA

At the time of my stay, the hotel guaranteed the following services

Shuttle bus :
It was necessary to reserve 30 minutes before at the reception.
Hotel to Patong at 11:00 am and 16:00 pm
Patong to Hotel at 16:00 pm and 21:00 pm

After that let’s see …..

From the road leading from Patong to Kamala, after about 5 km. you will find on the left the entrance of Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa.

If you follow the road you will reach the parking area (for car and motorbyke) and the main building of the Hotel. Going down towards the main building, you can already notice the fabulous tropical garden that surrounds the road and the main building.

After checking in and receiving all the necessary information from the reception staff , they was accompanied me, using a golf cart, to my accommodation.

Types of Rooms at  Thavorn Beach Village Resort & SPA

Asking the receptionist and reading the brochure of the Hotel I have notice that the Hotel is divided in 4 big area for the rooms.

Beach Rooms – Lagoon Pool Rooms – Hillside Room and Garden Rooms

The offering rooms type are the following :
Mountain view – Landmark view – Pool view – Ocean view – Non-smoking rooms – Suites – Family rooms

My accomodation room : Lagoon Poolside with Bathtub

I stayed here 3 days – 2 nights and was placed in the Lagoon by the pool with a bathtub.

The room was on the first floor and there was no direct access to the pool. I noticed that the first floor rooms had great access to the pool.
The room overlooked the tropical garden and the lagoon pool.

Entering the room I honestly cannot say that was a simple hotel room as the size of the room was about 50 square meters, gigantic bed and adjoining sofa bed perfect for relax and read a book.
In addition to the bedroom, the bathroom was really very spacious too and equipped with everything i need

Separate shower, separate toilet, bathtub, free toiletries, bathrobe, towels, slippers, hairdryer,
The present of a very spacious terrace, with a small table and two chairs was also a plus.
During the day and night the atmosphere was really quiet and relaxing.
The maid ensure my room was very clean and extremely helpful for any my request. The room was very comfortable in every way.

Summarizing the room was provided with air-conditioned , Linen, Alarm clock, Wardrobe or closet, Hand sanitiser, Minibar (only water when I was accommodate), Safety deposit box, Tile/marble floor, Carbon monoxide detector, Electric kettle, Desk, Seating Area, TV, Telephone, Satellite channels, Flat-screen TV, Cable channels, Balcony, Terrace, Outdoor dining area, Air purifiers, Drying rack for clothing, Wake up service/Alarm clock, Wake-up service

Outdoor LAGUNA Swimmingpool

In the swimming pool you can also practice surfing. I’ve tried and it’s not absolutely simple, but a lot of fun.
In the lagoon-style pool I got some refreshing drinks and snacks and a fun afternoon tea service. Many drinks are available in the Pool Bar.

Food & Restaurants at Thavorn Beach Village Resort & SPA

Most guests at the Thavorn Beach Village Resort & SPA should have a complimentary breakfast buffet included in their room package.  Breakfast is held in Marisa restaurant. 
American and Asian breakfast is served . A great choice is offered to all guest. A lot of different food are offered. From eggs, to thai soup, thai food, sausage , bacon, marmelade and bread ….. wooow
The drink station is located near the open kitchen. There’s a lot of juice (like mango , pineapple, apple and more) and an all-in-one coffee machine.

you can pick up sweet items like pastries, fruit, yougurt and granola.
The fruit was pretty much the same too, consisting of cut pineapple, papaya, watermelon .
The breakfast experience is really something you should try …..

Restaurant ( 7am to 10pm) – Marisa Restaurant
Average Price for 2 Pax: THB: 1’200/1’400 exclude alcohol

Once breakfast is over, The Restaurant “Marisa” resumes its regular menu á la carte. 

There’s a wide variety of western and Asian cuisines on the menu. 
Every guest will find also the menu in their rooms, as it is the same one that is used for room service.

The alcohol selection is good with different beers, wines and spirits listed. 
I choice a bottle of red wine from Chile and the bottle they charge me a fair price of 1’350.00 THB. 
Cocktails vary from 250.00 – 300.00 THB

The Thai Sala cafe ( 10am to 18:00pm) – closed on Monday

Pool bar and restaurant

If you are Happy Hour hopping at the Pool Bar , start here. 
Happy Hour at the Pool Bar goes from 17pm too 18pm when beers and cocktails get a special discount.
The Pool Bar is a good way to relax after a journey in the Swimming pool, the Beach or after coming back from one excursion. 
Here you can relax with a drink before go back in the room and prepare yourself for the diner or before the visit on the stunning Patong night life. 

Chana Wellness Spa

During my visit the Spa was temporarily closed.
Apparently they are renovating

Beach Zoo

Beach Zoo activity is a free-of-charge and available from 16:00 – 17:00
during high season also after breakfast 9-10am.

This activity is outdoors and is weather-dependent
Here you can see a wide array of friendly rabbits, turtles, parrots, and teacup pigs. 
Its was really fun to feed with milk the pigs, turtles, and interact with colorful parrots. 
This experience give you the idea how they can be so friendly the animals . Probably we should learn a lot from them . This is indeed one of the popular activities at the resort that I have heard from the staff.

Sustainability

My overall experience

Overall, I had a nice and relaxing stay at the Thavorn Beach Village Resort & SPA. The location was in a quite area between Patong and Kamala, the room was comfortable, big and very clean. The staff try all best to make you feeling confortable. Unfortunately the weather was not the best and I was unable to take advantage of all the opportunities, but I was able to take some time to read and relax.

The only problem i have notice was on Saturday in the Marisa Restaurant.
The Hotel management was changing the menu á la carte. Probably they was not expecting so much people in the restaurnat and the staff was not enough. Some guest was not happy and complaining about the delay on serving the dinner. My self i was waiting too but the food at the end was delicious and tasty. Honestly , sometimes the guest , should be patient and understand also that sometimes can happen, especially if you are on holiday. Thanks anyway to give me one opportunity to visit and review your hotel.
