Welcome to Karon Beach
Karon Beach is popular and busy, but still manages to convey that heaven on earth feeling when you visit it. The beach about 5 km long. it has soft white sand lapped by crystal clear waters edged with white waves.
The beach is also home to a beautiful temple known locally as Wat Suwan Khiri Ket. The entrance is protected by two sculpted snakes and the central hall includes a rare black Buddha statue.
From November to April the waters are calm and safe even for young families but from May to October the agitated wave motion makes bathing more dangerous. As a rule, the northern end is more secluded, making it ideal for a romantic stroll.
There are no public toilets but local bars have customer services – some charge a small fee.
